Eoin (prononcer Owen) Colfer est né le 14 mai 1965 à Wexford, en Irlande. Enseignant comme l'étaient ses parents, il vit avec sa femme Jackie et ses deux fils dans sa ville natale, où sont également installés son père, sa mère et ses quatre frères.
